very special weekend

I'm feeling overwhelmed with emotion after this weekend. Our youngest, our baby, our little man, Jack, was baptised yesterday! It was a very nice small get together with just family. I was happy my mom drove the 2 hrs to witness it and be there on Jack's special day. Brian's parents came and said the opening and closing prayers. They are spiritual giants and a wonderful influence and example to our family. I am so blessed to have such amazing in-laws. Brian's brother, Kevin and his girlfriend Crissy came too. It was so nice to have them there as well. Bishop Jones, presided..a wonderful wonderful man. I cannot express fully how thankful I am that he is my current Bishop. He has helped me in so many ways.

Spencer did a great job reading the 4th article of faith: "We believe the first principles and ordinances of the gospel are, first, faith in the Lord, Jesus Christ, second, repentance, third, baptism by immersion for the remission of sins and fourth laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost." Then Chris gave a wonderful talk on Baptism. I was very impressed with his words and overwhelmingly felt the spirit as he gave it. Brian then baptised Jack which was very cute. :) As they were getting dryed off and dressed I played a slideshow with pictures of Jack growing up and selected primary hymns.

Corinne then shared the scripture, D&C 33: 10-11-- "Yea open your mouths and they shall be filled, saying Repent, repent and prepare ye the way of the Lord, and make his paths straight; for the kingdom of heaven is at hand; Yeah, repent and be baptised, every one of you, for a remission of your sins; yea be baptised even by water, and then cometh the baptism of fire and of the Holy Ghost." I gave a talk on the Holy Ghost and then Brian confirmed him a member of the church and gave him the gift of the Holy Ghost throught the Melchizedek Priesthood which he bears. The Bishop and Brian's dad also participated in this ordinance. Then the Bishop welcomed Jack into the ward and gave him some words of wisdom and Sister Mucciarone, the primary president welcomed him as well. Thanks to all who were there and helped make his day special.

The family came back to our house and it was very nice to visit & have some good eats! :D

Today they sustained a new Relief Society Presidency. Audrey P. is our new President, I am her 1st counselor & Whitney N. is her 2nd counselor. WOW!!! I was just called to be a Relief Society teacher a few months ago. That calling I only teach once a month and have only given 2 lessons. This was very surprising, so I am very humbled as well as honored and excited. I've known Audrey for a long time. My first calling in the Young Womens Presidency (back when I was pregnant and just had my first baby Chris!) was with Audrey as the President. She is a truely wonderful sister. Whitney is new to our ward. :) Her husband is the teacher of the "teaching is no greater call" class in which Brian & I have been particpating in. They are a beautiful young family & have 3 kids. So I'm very excited to work with Whitney and get to know her better. A big thanks to our former Relief Society Presidency who did an AMAZING job. Kim P., Katherine R. & Verity L.. They left very big shoes for us to fill!!

Wow! This is definitely a weekend of milestones and changes for your family. Congrats to Jack!! I can't even fathom what it must be like to watch your child be baptized and confirmed a member of the church, it must be fantastic. I think I'll cry...a LOT.

Congrats to you on your new calling. I hear its a busy calling. But it helps to be serving with people you enjoy being around. Good luck with all that!

Second, have fun with that calling at church! I'm teaching the 12-13 year old Sunday School class and I love it :)
